April 2003

I am out in Palma at the moment getting ready for our first event of the season. We have had a 6 week break and only done 1 regatta since the World Championships in Sardinia. We did however do a lot of training through Feb and March and feel very happy with where we are. Our competitors we know have done more events then us recently (most have just been to Barcelona) but we do not want to peak this early in the year that is why we took a break as we know we have a hard season ahead of us and it is another 5 months till we need to be at our best.

There is likely to be about 90 boats at this event with all the top boats in the world competing. Obviously we want to win it but if we have improved on our 8th place at the worlds last year that will be fine at this stage. Racing starts on Monday 14th you can get results at www.isaf.org and I will write another report on wednesday 16th.
