June 2003
Since Spa regatta where we finished 10th and were strugling
for speed, we have tested a lot of our equipment and come
up with some answers to some of our speed problems, we also
have spent some time in weymouth training sorting our new
boat out making sure everything is perfect. We are now in
Athens training, we have been here for 5 days and we have
got another 5 days left. The training has been very productive,
we have been doing two 3 hour sessions a day and a gym session,
so there has been very little spare time, but we feel we have
moved forward with our sailing. Recently we have been struggling
with our equipment and that has made us neglect our own technique
some what, this training has really got us back on track with
us trying to improve ourselves. Athens is still changing quickly
the olympic marina is still being built and a tram service
is being set up from Athens centre to the marina. Whenever
I am here it makes me look forward to the Olympics and desperate
to qualify, each time I come back the city is a bit more ready
and the games feel closer.
In a week we are going to Brest for our european championships
this is the first of 3 big important events this summer, we
are looking forward to it and confident we will be ready to
challenge at the front. Thank you for your support.
